A Short Report -- Shirley's 517th Friendly Greeting -- March 1, 2016

How are you? Have you had a good new week? I do hope you have.

This is the 10th day I come back China from the US. In the past 10 days, I have mainly done two things – painted and fought with the sicknesses.

Until now, I have completed 2/5 paintings in my mind to match two classical Chinese poems while overcoming a serious waist ache and a serious headache which has led me to vomit.

Just today, I have made sure several things:

-- I have called the Degree Office of Chinese National Academy of Arts for making sure to take part in the National English Examination on May 29, 2016 for getting my degree of MFA. Ms. Xin Jiaoya answered my questions and she told me that I need not go to her office to leave my fingerprint in their system since I had done it last year and she kindly reminded me to re-register and to get the admission card for entrance examination in time.

-- I have connected with my Chinese English school for re-joining their English classes (I could not land their video lessons when I was in America so that I have missed about 150 lessons). Without any preparative, I took part in their Monthly Examination on Saturday and got 81 (I got 82 in their last mid-semester examination and my score was No.4 among the 1,600 students when I was in the US).

I am impression on my Chinese English tutors Ms. Cathy, Ms. Rainy, Ms. Rose for their quite responsible work and I do appreciate my enrollment teacher Ms. Li for her positive and sincere help.

I would really like to thank my American English teachers Mrs. Viki and Mrs. Fran Giglio at OTC, just for their good teaching, my English has been improved a lot.

-- I have also called my tutors Mr. Wu Tong, Mr. Lu Wenqing and professor Man Weiqi who is the former Executive Associate Dean of Chinese Painting School at Chinese National Academy of Arts and current President of Academy of Chinese Traditional Painting. I will go back to them to complete the other two paintings in my mind (one is a big size painting that I had started in Beijing, but did not complete in July, 2015 and the other is the first painting of my American Cultural Map Series which jumped into my mind in the wonderful English lesson of Mrs. Fran Giglio) within the upcoming 4 months, before I get the qualification to write the dissertation for my Master Degree of Fine Arts by passing the National English Examination.

Since the school has started their new semester on March 1. I will go back to Beijing as soon as I completed another 2 or 3 paintings in my mind for the other 2 or 3 Chinese classical poems.

-- I will also connect the Publishing House of Jinan University tomorrow and to see whether it is possible for me to go to visit it before I leave for Beijing.

Maybe you are surprised for the photo on this page – they are the last photos before I left for China, I had no time to deal with them until today. Below is the notes about them:

* The first one is Ms. Emily -- A Retail Sales Consultant of At & T Mobility who had given me the best solution for keeping my American cell phone number until I go back to the USA.

By the way, because I had registered my American telephone number with my Yahhoo account: shirleyinspringfield2015@yahoo.com,after I came back China, as soon as I want to land my account, even though I had input my right password, their system still asks me to input a code or text message which had been sent to my American cell phone. Therefore, I do not think that I can open this account until I go back to the USA in 4 or 6 months or longer time. So, if you or anyone who writes to me, please use the other way. If you still want to write to me via yahoo, you can write to shirleyinchina@yahoo.com which I just opened.

What I do hope is after I go back to the USA, the important data related my training in OTC in that account will not be cancelled.

* The second one is Mrs. Ellen Grier who is my good American friend and one of the best students and I. She came to me to say Good Bye;

* The third one is Associate Professor Dr. Paul Ashcroft, Ms. Sivill, Elizabeth A and I in the Office of College of Business at Missouri State University. I went there to thank them for they and their 3 graduated students had checked my English writing before I left for China.

How about you? Do you have anything special to share?

I am just a student on Arts of Painting, Music, English and Management, to work on the web site in my free time. I would really like to do somethings with what I have learned to make this little web site to be an Electronic Bridge of Cross - Culture and Comprehensive Arts, Language & Friendship. To help the others and this world while improving myself and realizing my own value of life.

I would really like to appreciate you for your understanding, directions, supports and help.

If you have any questions, comments or suggestions, you are welcome to write to shirley@ebridge.cn or leave your message on Message Board.

Sincerely,

Shirley Yiping Zhang
