Greeting

A Funny, Happy and Moving Time-- Shirley's 537th Friendly Greeting -Sep 16, 2016

How are you?

On my side, I have had a funny, happy and deeply moving Chinese Mid-autumn Festival.

The Mid-autumn Festival is a Chinese traditional and national festival for 3 days but every year, the night of the Mid-autumn Festival is different for it is decided by the lunar calendar. It was on Sep 15 in 2016.

Usually, it is a reunion time of the members of a family.

Since my son is in a travel between Japan and Australia and I just came back from a travel of visiting my father, I have no any plan to have any Mid-autumn Festival reunion with anyone else, so that I did not realize the Mid-autumn festival of 2016 would come in 30 hours until Sep 13. Wow! My Godness! In a hurry, I rushed into some supermarkets to choose moon cakes and to send them to my father and someone else with the express mail service with a quite funny experience so that the postman made joke with me that "You are just like a sister who comes down from the moon. " :-)

It is not the first time to get this comment, I am still in a happy emotion with a big smile . :-) why?

Because I was informed to enroll in Chinese National Academy of Arts as a student for the degree of MFA on Sep 19 to Sep 21. That means since Sep 19, I would become a true candidate for the degree of Master of Fine Arts of CNAA, my long-term dream has been true.

However, I am now in Shenzhen (the flying time is for 3 hours), and I was a student of Chinese National Academy of Arts Sep, 2011 to July, 2015. they had checked my data and collected my fingerprint before I took part in the National English Examination. Especially, the Office of Academic Degree had approved me to find a professor as my tutor for master degree by myself before I started the study under the directions of Professor Mu Jiashan on July 15 and then left for Shenzhen in August... so, I made a phone call to Beijing to see whether it is possible for me to deliver my data by the post station instead of flying there in person since I had been in the school for 4 years and they would not ask me to stay at school always during the period of dissertation writing... I am lucky enough for they have agreed with me.

With a grateful heart and was involved into the jobs to collect the data for about 6 days, finally, 10 sorts and 28 files (included the thesis outline) were sent to Beijing yesterday afternoon.

You cannot imagine what happy I was at that time that the postman took my mail pack away and you cannot imagine how many people had given me their hands before the data was sent.

Here is just an example on Sept 13, 2016:

At 9:00am. Dr. Wang Tianbo who is from Europe and was my middle school teacher spent his time for 2 hours to talk on the phone call with me on my cross-culture and comprehensive dream.

At 1:30pm. Professor Wang Tongjun who taught me in CNAA finished his recommendation for me and sent it to me from Beijing.

At 2:00pm and 4:00pm. Ms. Xin and Mr. Su of the Degree Office of Chinese National Academy of Arts answered my questions, approved my request and directed me how to prepare my data.

At 9:30pm. Professor Mu Jiashan gave me a detail directions on how to improve my thesis outline.

At 10:30pm.Dr./Professor Panying who taught me in Beijing finished her recommendation for me and she would send it to me next morning.

Therefore, although I was so busy that I had to work for whole of the night sometimes, in my heart, it is/was full of the appreciations and gratitude...

On the one hand, I am thinking that anything is possible as long as we work hard on it; on the other hand, I do feel that if there were no so much good directions, help and support from so many good professors, leaders, friends and kind people, my dream would be nothing. For instance, just for improving my thesis outline, Professor Mu Jiashan read what I had written 3 times and gave me very patient and careful directions. Even, he gave me some example on how to improve the language after reading my writing second time.

Therefore, I am thinking, if there were no so many professors, staff and educators there to help me, even though I wanted be one of the " Clumsy birds to start flying early " I did not know how to fly and where I should fly to...

So, what I can and I should do is to cherish the good opportunity of my motherland has given me, work harder with a grateful heart now, future and whole of my rest life, to help more people and this world...

How about you? Do you have anything special to share?
I am just a student on Arts of Painting, Music, English and Management, to work on the web site in my free time. I would really like to do somethings with what I have learned to make this little web site to be an Electronic Bridge of Cross - Culture and Comprehensive Arts, Language & Friendship. To help the others and this world while improving myself and realizing my own value of life.

I would really like to appreciate you for your understanding, directions, supports and help.

If you have any questions, comments or suggestions, you are welcome to write to shirley@ebridge.cn or leave your message on Message Board.

Sincerely,

Shirley Yiping Zhang
