Greeting

The Power of the Sincerity - Shirley's 297th Friendly Greeting, March 6,2011

How are you? Have you had a good weekend? I do hope that you are doing well and enjoy your weekend.

I came back to China Central Academy of Fine Arts Tuesday noon. Since then, I have learned a new kind of Chinese traditional paintings -- Chinese Mogu Painting and I have painted 9 pictures. :-)

From Sydney to Shenzhen, then to Beijing, I have met so many people and I have experienced so many things, the biggest gain and the strongest feeling is the power of the sincere.

In Australia, I got so much help from the local Chinese -Australians, it made me feel warm, and it is full of the confidence with my son in my heart to work and to live there.

In Shenzhen, what my art professor and his wife did for me, made me think of some family members, even, it was them to send me to the airport at 5:00am.

I postponed my travel from Shenzhen to Beijing for the sincere invitation of Dr. Gongweng Chen -- an old friend whom I have not met for about 10 years.

After a talking over a phone call for 40 minutes, I went to visit his institute and company. I was impression on his achievement on economy and finance research, and in the data and information field, my direct feeling was that his company would be No. 1 in the finance and securities data and information field in China and in Asia soon; Something most surprised me was that I found the executive general manager -- Mr. Wang was one of my former colleagues. Just in the short several years after he left from our company, he has helped Dr. Chen create a great career. When I saw the bright smile on his face, I could not help asking myself: Why a same person, could create a totally different achievement in different company in the same work field? What we should learn from this situation?

With this question, I read the data about Dr. Chen Gongweng, his company and institute. I have found many excellent qualities as a scholar, theorist and entrepreneur; the most impressed thing is the power of the sincere. To be sincere to our motherland, to be sincere to a career down to earth, to be sincere to every employee and a friend who has not met for a long time... Maybe it is one the most important reasons that Dr. Chen Gongweng can collect so many talent people who have the high - tech, high-wisdom level and be experts in this or that field. Therefore, in his company team, 50% of people are researching the current economy, finance and securities markets; many of them came back from the Wall Street with doctoral degrees and rich experience and knowledge in their fields.

With much touching and thinking, I boarded on the airplane to fly to Beijing. Then I was touched by some same sincere things around of me.

At the Bejing Airport, I met the taxi driver who was in a worrying and I found 9 telephone calls on my cell phone -- remembered wrong my time to reach at Beijing airport, he came to the airport 1 hour earlier than my landing time, so that he had called me many many times.

Then at home, it was the young boss who is younger than my son helped me to buy the cover of my pan and a good desk lamp.

Something most touched me is in the classroom. As soon as I reached in Beijing, I went to the classroom directly; I caught Mr. Zhang Gong who is the instructor of our Chinese Mogu Painting. With much patience, he answered my many questions. Such as: What is Mogu Painting? What is the main character of this kind of paintings? Who created it? Who were/are the main representative artists? And how did it develop in the history? When I heard and recorded his answers, I have felt the sincere from his patient attitude. So, first time, I spoke something about my exploration on the combined art to him and hope to get help in CAFA. The sincere encouragement of Mr. Zhang Gong, made me feel good and felt the meaning of my work. Anyway, I was worrying to be laughed at, I did not show him my learning works at once.

However, one thing that Mr. Zhang did in our last lesson Friday afternoon, touched me so much that I asked a classmate to make the video and I rushed back home to carry my combined art works to show Mr. Zhang and hoped to get his direction.

Do you know what he did in the lesson? Mr. Zhang was showing us how to paint the bamboo. Suddenly, he stopped his work and asked " Where is the student who showed his bamboo to me yesterday? Please go to ask him to come and I am waiting for him… " When I heard this, I did think that Mr. Zhang was one of the most sincere instructors of us, so that I had the courage to ask him to comment my exploration jobs.

Yes, today, when I am writing here now, I do have felt the power of the sincere. To treat a work, a career, an employee and a student with a sincere heart and attitude, is really one of the most important things in our management work and daily life. With a sincere heart, we can work from small to be bigger, we can unite the most talent people together, we can create a great career and to live a meaningful, helpful and happy personal life...

With this idea, I am keeping doing my jobs on the little web site even thought I am suffering a serious cold and the ache on my joints right now. I do hope to offer some helpful services to my readers, friends and you regularly… :- )

Maybe this is also the power of the sincere?

How do you think of my idea? Do you agree with me?
I am just a student on Art of Painting, Music, English and Management, to work on the web site in my free time. I would really like to do a few things with what I have learned to make this little web site to be an Electronic Bridge of Inter-Art & Cross - Culture Exchange, Chinese Language Learning & Friendship Making. To help the others while to improve myself.

I would like to appreciate you for your understanding, directions, supports and help.

If you have any questions, comments or suggestions, you are welcome to write to shirley@ebridge.cn or leave your message on Message Board.
