Greeting

Concentrate on Work & Study -- Shirley's 242nd Friendly Greeting - Feb 28, 2010

How are you? I do hope that you are doing well and enjoying your weekend.

This is the first business week after the Chinese New Year's Holiday. I have had a busy, efficient and delight time.

Monday morning, as soon as I entered my office, a group and a group of young people came to say "Happy New Year!" to me. As a return, I gave every one a red paper bag with little money inside. :-)

Before I found a time to go to my bosses' offices, they came into my office and gave me a red bag, too. :-)

This is a custom in the south of China. In the companies that have good income, the bosses go to every office and give every employee a red paper bag on the first business day, to wish them have a happy new year and hope them to work harder and to make more money with the companies together. While the young single people go to their elder, married colleagues and bosses to say "Happy New Year" while to get red bags and lucky wishes back. :-)

On the first business day, my boss arranged my work in the New Year. I have started to work in 2 fields even though the formal documents of my work arrangement have not been announced yet.

As soon as I got one pair of my new glasses, I re-started to work on my computers (the other pair of my new glasses for helping me to see far away and near has no been come yet). I have read, attended work meetings and made some investigations.

Friday evening, I completed my 4th small work paper in 2010. I have also read 13 articles and papers this weekend.

I am interested in the art of management as same as I am interested in art of painting, music and language. I could not stop as long as I have concentrated on what I am working on until my eyes ached. :-)

I do feel there is something similar in these art fields. When I am painting, it often gives me some inspiration about management. When I am singing or writing music, it often brings me some ideas on my creating of painting. :-)

This Interdisciplinary Art learning and working has not only brought me a peaceful and grateful heart, but also, it has brought me a very sensitive mind. With an appreciated heart and quick speed to work, to study and to live, I often feel luck and happiness to be an individual in the world. :-)

The best news this week is that my son will become a postgraduate student since next week for his master degree in Australia after studying there for about 8 years. Another piece of good news is that he has gotten his drive license and started to drive this week. When I heard these, my heart was smiling and the first responding was that I wished I could hug him and took him to have a lunch or dinner to reward his good job in the far away place. : -)

Anyway, this week, I have invited the teacher who is from Shenzhen Personnel Bureau Mr. Rao to have a lunch, to thank him for his good work for me -- I had given up the opportunity to attend the study in the US and I did not go to apply my visa on the day that he had appointed for me. He called me and talked with me over the telephone for more than 2 hours. Just for his good jobs, I went on the travel to be a student and got my degree of MBA in the US, while my long term art dream was true there…

This week, I have also met one of my best friends and former work partners Mr. Wu Dazhong, his wife and daughter. We had not met for 16 years. We felt so kind and had a good lunch together. :-)

How about you? Do you have anything special this week?

I am just a learner on art of painting, music and English, to work on the web site in my free time. I would really like to do a few things with what I have learned to make this little web site to be an Electronic Bridge of Culture Exchange, Chinese Language Learning & Friendship making. To help the others while to improve myself.

I would like to appreciate your understanding, directions, supports and hope to get your friendly direction and help.

If you have any questions, comments or suggestions, you are welcome to write to shirley@ebridge.cn or shirley004@yahoo.com, or to publish your opinions in the forum.
