Greeting

No Title :-) - Shirley's 277th Friendly Greeting, Oct 16, 2010

How are you? Have you had a good weekend?

Today is the 4th day that I have lived in the hospital 3rd time within the 64 days since August 11.

The doctors in Shenzhen 4th People’s Hospital had a surgery Thursday morning for me, as the necessary preparative for the next surgery to remove the lesion part that had led my first biopsy August 31.

Once more, I have experienced a hard time with the sharp ache before the surgery was finished so that I could not help catching the hand of a lady doctor to stop the tremble on my body and I could not help to count the time one minute by one minute before a tube was taken out of my body, however, I did not ask any doctor or nurse to inject painkiller for me. I would like to keep my mind clear and I would like to reduce the affect of the painkiller.

I feel quite luck for I have gotten the first-class' professional service in the hospital even though I did not know any doctor or nurse in it before I came here.

After knowing that to have this surgery is the precondition of the next and more important surgery, I went to Beijing University Shenzhen Hospital at once, but I could not get a register on Tuesday and Wednesday. There are too many patients there, so that the hospital has to limit the register numbers each day. So, I decided to go to the other hospital.

Then, I found that once more, I have gotten the looked after of God indeed. :-)

-- The Shenzhen 4th People’s Hospital is not only the only city hospital that has a branch with the best reputation on the sickness that I would like to treat, but also, it allows their patients to order a doctor whom we want to be our surgery doctor, include their president or director. By the good help of a young doctor - Dr. Liu Fu Ying Cong whom I met first time, I was picked up to their in-patient department from their out-patient department by their special car, and I chose the director of the department - Dr. Guoliang Xing to be my surgery doctor. So that next day, when I went to do the dressing change with smiles, people did not believe that I just left from the operation table for 24 hours.

-- Instead of asking family members to look after their patients who would have a surgery as the other hospitals do, in this hospital, from making special food to changing clothes, from helping patients to go to the washroom to carrying each meal, things be done by their own attendants or nurses free, everything is convenient and comfortable, so that I feel that I am at home.

-- There is the most serious management in the hospital, every patient cannot leave or escape from the hospital as I did from the other hospitals. If I want to leave from the hospital, I must fill a Note of Leave and to get the permit of a doctor or a nurse. :-)

Even though I cannot escape as usual, I do feel good to live in the hospital indeed. :-)

-- There is the best relationship between the doctors, nurses and their patients in this hospital. When I went into the hospital first time, I felt their service special so that I could not help to ask the others how long time this hospital has been here, whether it was bought by the hospital from a private clinic, since I did feel something quite different here. Then, today, I notice that on the wall by their elevator, there is a slogan “To help a patient; to make a friend; to get a good reputation” now, I feel that I have found the answer.

I am thinking, even though this is a hospital that is listed No 4 at this time, I am sure, with this kind of working attitude, management and service style. Its actual list in people’s heart will be moved forward. :-)

With a grateful heart, now, I read Bible in English during when I am injected or I am in a line to wait for dressing chang; I opened the BBC World after I had opened CNN and the other 5 English TV channels, before I lived into the hospital. As soon as I can sit up, I paint on my Sketch Book in the hospital, too.

I would really like to match my doctors and hope to leave from the hospital as soon as possible, to go back to my own English environment that I have created for myself. Since I cannot paint Chinese painting as usual now, I would like to learn English and Western cultures as much as possible within the time... :-)

How about you? Do you have anything special in your life?

I am just a learner on art of painting, music and English, to work on the web site in my free time. I would really like to do a few things with what I have learned to make this little web site to be an Electronic Bridge of Culture Exchange, Chinese Language Learning & Friendship making. To help the others while to improve myself.

I would like to appreciate your understanding, directions, supports and hope to get your friendly direction and help.
