Greeting

The Harvest Season -- Shirley's US Travel Diary -040 & 200th Friendly Greeting --Sun, Jun 21, 2009

How are you? Is everything good with you? I do hope that you are doing well and are enjoying your weekend.

Today is the 263rd day that I have been in the US. My studying has entered the 9th course -- Strategy Management. This is one of my favorite lessons and I enjoy the teaching style of Dr. William J. Donoher very much. I bought a textbook for my lesson ahead for 1 week and I wished I would learn as much as possible...

However, first time, I cannot focus my mind on my text book and often, my mind flies out of the classroom, flies to the white clouds in the blue sky and tears lew down my face... something significant and uncertain have happened in my life and I often feel that I am living in a dream...

One of the certain and happiest things is that I am lucky enough to know and get the direction by a Famous Scholar -- Dr. Bill Booth in person. Some of my paintings have been examined by him and he is leading and helping me to make an individual art exhibition in the US.

When I read the words by Dr. Bill Booth “I found many of the works you sent to be of a quality suitable for exhibition, also I listened to your beautiful voice...”;“I think that you would want us to show your very best works to not only build your reputation, but also to engage the people who would go to see your exhibition in looking more deeply into the works...”Tears flew on my face... after all, to be an artist of painting and music is the dream of my childhood, even though it has been delayed for about 30 years for the Culture Revolution in China, it will be true soon...

I could not express my endless grateful heart to the God, to the people who have offered me the opportunity to study in the US, to encourage me, help me, care for and love me when I was walking on the long and winding learning while working road, when I was in the blue... At this time, especially, I deelpy miss and appreciate my two art teachers -- Mr. Charlie King who has gone and Mr. Tao who is in China; I deeply miss and appreciate my two music teachers -- Ms. Maand Ms. Huang, for their 6.5 years' hard working for me...

I could not help to go to the church to meet Mr. John and his assistants to require them to show me how to Pray, to teach me what baptism is? Why do people do a baptism? How to have a baptism? What is the difference of the baptisms in Christianity and so on...

Then I started my lesson of Pray with a grateful heart every day... :-)

How about you? Do you have anything special in your life this week?

I am just a learner on art of painting, music, English and Chinese language, to work on the web site in my free time. I would really like to do a few things with what I have learned to make this little web site to be an Electronic Bridge of Culture Exchange, Chinese Language Learning & Friendship making. To help the others while to improve myself.

I would like to appreciate your understanding, directions, supports and hope to get your friendly direction and help.

If you have any questions, comments or suggestions, you are welcome to write to shirley@ebridge.cn or Yiping007@MissouriState.edu, or to publish your opinions in the forum.
