Greeting

Shirley's 100th Friendly Greeting--Sun, August 12, 2007

How are you? I do hope that you are well and have a easy and relaxed weekend.

In China culture, 100 is a lucky number. It means consummation, lucky and many cool meanings. When a baby has come to the world for 100 days, his/her parents would make party for him/her. When a company was found for 100 years that means it is one of the best companies in the world. What is the meaning of the 100th greetings that I have sent to you via the little web site? I would like to make a recall about the road it has gone in the past 3 years.

It was September, 2004. I had learned the art of painting and vocal music for 1.5 years and I would like to find a place to save my learning works. I decided to found my own web site Shirley’s World with the domain names www.ebridge.com.cn and www.ebridge.cn. Since then, the little web site has experienced 3 phases.

The first phase (from September, 2004 to April, 2005): It was just a store and to save and display my painting, music and photography works.

The second phase (from May, 2005 to May, 2007): It had developed its basic foundations as a web site; its content started to be focused on something I am specializing in. The parts that I am not specializing in have been canceled. Painting and music creations, Chinese language and culture have become the main content. Its running style and the main characteristics started to be clearer.

The third phase (from May, 2007 to Now): It has entered a combinative time to research and explore its own core competition ability. Painting, music, calligraphy creating and culture introduction are becoming some tools and background to service for the Chinese Language Learning. Chinese language learning is becoming a thread to pass through the other parts on it. To create a unique Chinese learning style with my own knowledge copy right. With this way, something that I was learning for fun, something that my level is on a general level will be improved on a new and better level via the combination? I am not very sure at this time. But, I feel that it should be a direction. After all, Chinese language is my best specializing in, plus the other things that I have learned and I am learning, the combinative advantage should be outstood? I am thinking and exploring it now.

The good news is that since I started the new exploration, the list of the little web site has had a big upgrade. Shirley’s World has been listed on the 1st page and kept listing on the first 3 ones on www.google.cn in the 4.7 million web sites with the same title. Sometimes, it is listed on the 2nd page. The list on www.google.com, 'Shirley’s World' has entered the first 3 pages. The list has been upgraded on 20th to 30th. Sometimes, it is on page 2, No. 20, in about 5 million web sites. On the rate of flowing of data, one of my domains www.ebridge.com.cn is listed on 1.13 million in 3 million web sites in China, the other domain www.ebridge.cn is listed on 2.4 million. There are about 1100 regular users of the weekly greeting until now.

I am confident on my volunteer cooperator team and myself. I am interested in working on the web site. I am going to do my best to develop it with a work down to earth. To help the others while to improve myself.

As a friend, what is your thought about the little web site? Do you have any suggestions and comments about it? You are welcomed to tell me about it.

I am just a learner on art, music, English and the work on the web site in my free time. Anyway, I would really like to do a little bit things with what I have learned to make this little web site to be An Electronic Bridge Of Culture Exchange, Friendship and Language Learning. During the process to help the others and to improve myself.

I do appreciate your understanding, directions and supports. I do hope to get your great help continuously now and in the coming time...

If you have any questions, comments or suggestions, please write to shirley@ebridge.cn or shirleyz004@yahoo.com. You are welcomed to publish your opinions in the forum.
