Greeting

The 43rd Friendly Greeting From Shirley, China, Sun, June 25, 2006

How are you? Is everything well with you? I do hope you are well and have a good weekend.

This is another busy week in the company, most of time I was in the meetings, researched something and made documents final judgment. Can you imagine? I had three meetings just in the morning on Monday. Still, I keep having my first project daily meeting with standing by my computers for saving time.

In our company, we do not have meetings for a long time. Even though the company's regular managers meeting is just for 30 to 40 minutes, 15 department and son company’s managers report their work last week and the problems that need to be helped by the company, the members in the general manager office answer them, to discuss something important in the meeting. Then the vice general manager or general manager speak something we have to pay more attention to in the new week, then we finish the meeting. Anyway, the precondition to have a short meeting is that every manager has to write a summary on Friday for keeping the regular meeting on Monday in a high efficiency.

A biggest shock in my heart this week is that I have re-known a good friend and a woman doctor. I knew her when I had a regular health checking in her hospital one year ago. Then, we became good friends. I admire her for she always works carefully and be responsible, speaks with smile, be full of the optimistic, tolerant and patient to her patients in the hospital; be nice to look after her parents in law, her husband and her daughter with her special tender and lovely way. However, first time, I knew she is in fact a cancer patient who accepted a big operation 3 years ago. Since I knew this on Tuesday, I have been thinking an old question -- why we should live in the world? How can we make our limited lives more meaningful and much brighter? In case we are meeting something unfortunate as she met, how should we treat it? Can I keep a so optimistic and peaceful heart as she does? Now I have not made my thoughts 100% clear, but, I really think that this friend has made a very good example for me. An optimistic and positive life attitude maybe is the best treatment and medicine, a big smile maybe is much better than a pill… Do you agree with me?

I am just a learner on art, music, English and the work on the web site in my free time. Anyway, I would really like to do a little bit things with what I have learned to make this little web site to beAn Electronic Bridge Of Culture Exchange, Friendship, and Language Learning. During the process to help the others and to improve myself. :-)

I do appreciate your understanding, directions and supports. I do hope to get your great help continuously now and in the coming time...

If you have any questions, comments and suggestions, please write to shirley@ebridge.cn , or shirleyz004@yahoo.com, You are welcomed to publish your opinions in the forum, too. :-)
