Chinese Classical Poem--0035: What A Beautiful West Lake!

LISTEN TO THE TEXTLISTEN TO SHIRLEY SINGING THE POEM

Hi, friends, have you been to Eastern China? If you were, you would certainly know Hangzhou and its most beautiful place -- the West Lake. :-)

In Chinese history, many litterateurs and artists have created thousand and thousand works to admire the beauty of the West Lake. Among the works, Song Dynasty (960-1279) poet Su Shi (1036 - 1101) s   poem Yin Hu Shang Chu Qing Hou Yu -- Drinking on the West Lake, Fine First, Rain Later is one of the most famous products.

About Su Shi and his poem, we have touched once via Ducks Know the Spring Is Coming At the First , you can review something about them via the links.

This poem writes the beauty of the West Lake everywhere and anytime, in the sunny time or rain day. It's just like One of the Most 4 Beautiful Girls -- Xi Shi no matter with a heavy makeup or a light one.

Except this poem, we have also learned another peom to write the Beautiful Lotus In The West Lake by Song Dynasty PeotYang Wangli (1127 - 1206) . I have made a link for you and hope it can help you to understand this poem.

As usual, I have written a piece of music to match this poem and hope you enjoy it and it is a little bit helpful to improve your Chinese listening level. :-)

MAIN MEANING OF THIS POEMLISTEN TO SHIRLEY SINGING THE POEM

In the fine days,
its water ripples are bright and beautiful,
In the rain time,
its mountain color is hazy and wonderful.
I want to compare the West Lake
as the beauty Xi Shi,
They are same charming
with both of light or heavy makeup...
