Hi, friends, have you experienced some situation that you had parted with your good friends for some terrible reasons, and then you suddenly met him/her accidentally? What would you feel if you did?

The little poem by Tang Dynasty (A. D. 618 ? A.D. 907 ) poet Du Fu (A.D.712 - A.D.770)Jangnan Feng Li Guinian -- Meeting Li Guinian South of the Yangtze River just expresses a complex heart after both of them escaped from the capital Changan (in today's Shannxi Province) because of the War for years and suddenly they met in the far away south of the Yangtze River.

There was so much happiness and sadness, there was so much lucky and pity. With 4 sentences, this little poem has written out one or many different views. Just like a long Chinese painting that was made of many different little views.

In history, Both of them had met at the greatest times of Tang Dynasty at the first, Li was a famous musician and Du was a famous poet, they often met in the prince Qi's house before the War started, to hear the music by the musician before they escaped from Changan. No one realized that they could meet each other in the south of the Yangtze River, in the beautiful season, but blossom dropping time...

As usual, I have written a piece of music to match it hope you enjoy it.

This is the 3rd poem by Du Fu that I have introduced for you and you can review the other two ones via the links below:

Meeting Li Guinian South of the Yangtze River

By Du Fu   ( Tang )

I had often met you in the prince Qi's house
before the War started,
I had heard your songs front of Lord Cui's hall
before we escaped from Changan.
I meet you in the beautiful views
in the South of the Yangtze River now,
with much blossom dropping again...
