 My research is roughly related to three aspects: Chinese teaching, securities information, and cross-cultural and comprehensive art. It is mainly expressed through papers, publications, and academic conferences.
My research work in securities information field concluded with the last paper receiving the "First Prize for China Securities Papers" awarded by Xinhua News Agency and a book series in which I served as executive chief editor of the 12th volume in 2000, and then the Shenzhen Financial Innovation Award from the city government in 2005.
Now I am mainly research focus on my own cross-cultural and comprehensive / integrated art:
1. Papers:
-- In December 2025, "On the Feasibility of Creating 'Poetry, Painting and Music: Integrated Artistic Chinese' in the Field of International Chinese Language Teaching — Starting from the Relationship between Traditional Chinese Painting and Modern Chinese Language" passed the blind review of the Chinese Teachers Association of the USA, and I will participate in its 2026 Annual Conference at the University of Rhode Island.
-- In June 2019, the abstract of "Initiate 'Poetry, Painting and Music: Integrated Artistic Chinese', exploring a new way for the overseas dissemination of Chinese culture" was published in the Manual of the Academic Symposium on International Chinese Education in the New Era, co-organized by the Editorial Department of World Chinese Teaching of Beijing Language and Culture University and Qingdao University.
-- In April 2019, my paper "Exploring a New Approach to Integrating Overseas Basic Chinese Education with Chinese Traditional Culture — Creating a Preparatory Course for Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language by Combining Poetry, Painting, and Music" was accepted by the First Symposium on Chinese as a Second Language and Research in New Zealand (CSL-NZ 2019) and I was scheduled to speak at the conference; however, for some reason, I couldn't attend.
-- In July 2019, "On Mu Jiashan and Zhang Ding's Mountain and Water Paintings in Pure Black Ink" was published in the magazine "Books and Paintings" by Shanghai Painting and Calligraphy Publishing House.
-- In June 2000,“The Special Functions of Securities Charts (Excerpt)" was published in the sixth issue of "China Journalist" by Xinhua News Agency (This paper got the The First Grade Award of the China Securities News Papers was given by Xinhua News Agency, China.)
-- In October 1999, "The Functions of Charts in the Field of Securities News" was published in the 10th issue of "China Press" by the National Press and Publication Administration.
2. Publications:
-- In March, 2018: ( book, DVD, e-book and web version which only opens to book buyers ) was published by Jinan University Press.
-- In May, 2013: ( book, DVD, e-book and web version which only opens to book buyers ) was published by Jinan University Press.
-- In Oct. 2002: I organized five young Americans from Oregon State University and two young scholars from Hong Kong City University to edit and record a book series that I translated and titled "Together with Me, Learn American English" 1–4, which was published by Jinan University Press.
From 1993 to 2020: I was the chief creator of the "Statistical Framework of China's Securities Market", with its content published across over 6,000 pages in the "Securities Times" (by the Securities Times Newspaper Office) and more than 100 pages in the "Securities Market Herald" magazine (by the Shenzhen Stock Exchange). I also served as the executive editor of a book series comprising 8 volumes, published by five different publishing houses.
3. Attending International Academic Conferences:
-- In May 2026, I will participate in the 2026 Annual Conference of the Chinese Teachers Association of the USA.
-- In June 2019, I participated in the Academic Symposium on “International Chinese Education in the New Era”, co-organized by the Editorial Department of World Chinese Teaching of Beijing Language and Culture University and Qingdao University.
-- In Sept 24, 2011, I attended the 2011 Kentucky World Language Fall Conference at Kentucky University, and then I offered 18 demonstrations at International Chinese Teaching Classrooms in 6 local schools, in KY, USA.
-- Also, in November 1997, I attended the 31st World Chinese Press Association Conference in Kuala Lumpur and was received by the Prime Minister of Malaysia.
