Greeting

The 47th Friendly Greeting From Shirley, China, Sun, July 23, 2006

How are you? Have you had a good week? I do hope you are well and have a relaxed and easy weekend.

This week, I went to visit and learn something from Bloomburg (its Hong Kong branch) -- one of the best financial multimedia information companies in the U.S. and in the world. Also, I did something to push and quicken the software development step on my projects.

Meanwhile, I used much energy to organize a company speech competition. Over 300 colleagues attended the activity Saturday afternoon. Over 20 individuals and 3 departments got awards ? certificate, cups and money.

This is a very young team and we are working in a multimedia circumstance. There are many kinds of talents in the company. Every department sent its best and most beautiful people as its delegate, most of them have some excited accompanying ways by music, pictures, cartoon, lantern slide, songs and even the television style, to admire our country, our company, our occupation and those excellent colleagues, managers in our team and work with a very beautiful and positive ways ? we had had twice competitions already to choose the best ones to take part in the final. I had to care for whole of the process, to adjust and decide something suddenly happened and I could not see and hear the speech with whole of my energy, but, twice, I wept by so many touched things in our team. I do feel honor to create a totally new career for the industry and the country with so many excellent people together. I am glad for we have had a successful competition. I am happy that it has helped the company to train some young organizers.

Then we offered the staff and invited their family to come to watch an American movie -- Impossible III. Many friends have asked me that whether Chinese can watch a Western movie? My answer is Yes and this is not a surprised thing in today’s China. In my city, we can watch all of the Television channels of Hong Kong. We can watch the programs such as 60 Minutes and something by Dave from N.Y. C. If you like and have time, you can watch the western movies every day. We have also had the digital Television since 2005. We can watch about 75 canals free and order the channels after paying. So, it is a very common thing to watch a Western movie at the first time. Maybe it is in a same time as you do.

Does your company organize any activities as we do? Are you interested in taking part in them? If you are/were a manager, what will/would you do to fix your corporation culture?

I am just a learner on art, music, English and the work on the web site in my free time. Anyway, I would really like to do a little bit things with what I have learned to make this little web site to beAn Electronic Bridge Of Culture Exchange, Friendship, and Language Learning. During the process to help the others and to improve myself. :-)

I do appreciate your understanding, directions and supports. I do hope to get your great help continuously now and in the coming time...

If you have any questions, comments and suggestions, please write to shirley@ebridge.cn , or shirleyz004@yahoo.com, You are welcomed to publish your opinions in the forum, too. :-)
