Shirley Created Poem --002: You Are A Brook...

Last week, I introduced a Chinese folk song A Couple of Bosom Friend and mentioned something about Mountain and Water... I am so lucky that I got a very good responding from a talent and thoughtful "Big" friend with some poetical language below :

The mountain and water influence and affect each other.

The mountain is rock and represents stability,
The water is fluid and capable of many forms.

The water admires the mountain because it is dependable
The mountain admires the water because it is creative

The mountain can direct the flow of the water, but,
The water can determine the shape of the mountain.

Very different in every way,
the mountain and water influence and affect each other wondrously.
The result is exquisite beauty.

When water sculpts a beautiful mountain,
The mountain creates a beautiful waterfall.

I did enjoy the essay or poem very much for it was making me thinking and I also feel something jumped into my mind... Instead of talking about mountain and water, I wrote something about a brook...and hope you enjoy and tell me whether it can be called a poem?

YOU ARE A BABBLING BROOK

By Shirley Zhang

You are a little babbling brook,
flowing from a deep forest,
you have no a strong wave as a huge river,
you have no a big sound as a waterfall,
you are just a common brook,
flowing with you own
clean and peaceful way...

By your clear water,
I have seen the beautiful cobbles,
You are carving their thousand pretty sharps
with your soft water
you are creating their smooth and moisten bodies
with your soft touching
you are pleasure children who are picking up the colored stones
with your daily work...

By your clear water,
I have seen the swimming fish,
they are shaking the tails
to appreciate the endless water, food and nutrition
that you have offered day and day...
I have also seen the thousands and thoughts tadpoles,
they are moving their big heads
to thank you
for you have given them a huge growing up room...

By your clear water,
I have heard some beautiful songs,
they are your soft lullabies,
to comfort the children in your chest,
they are your tender serenades,
to sing for your forest mother...

You are a little babbling brook,
flowing from a deep forest,
you have no a strong wave as a huge river,
you have no a big sound as a waterfall,
you are just a common brook,
flowing with you own
clean and peaceful way...
