 This is a song that my vocal music had teacher wanted to teach me for a long time, but until tonight I could not really learn it.
This is the theme song of a popular Chinese movie -- The Guerrilla Force on the Railway. It is a song of admiration for the heroes who fought against the Japanese Fascist on the railway near Weishan Lake during World War II.
I like this song, not only for its tone and strong Shandong local color, but also because although it is set in the desperately hard times of war, it expresses a very optimistic attitude towards life with an easy, relaxed and beautiful tone and rhythm.
I do hope that my singing will bring you a big smile and at the same time be a little help to you to learn more about Chinese culture and to improve your Chinese aural comprehension.
