Dr. Kong Guoping was my middle school and high school teacher. Then he worked as a researcher in the Chinese Academy of Sciences, until he retired. Now he is still writing book and one of his books got a national reward.
Here is a good encouragement he wrote from far away Beijing, China:

It seems like your travel in American has had a good beginning. I am sure it will certainly meet the result you wished. It is also a very good opportunity to practise and to improve your oral English level.
Glad to know the details of your life and business in America. But please pay more attention to give yourself some room and do not fill your time too much, do not overwork as well.
