After my home was burgled, I changed the time of my vocal music lesson from the evening to daytime and have continued having my music lessons at noon. Even though the cost of the opportunity to continue to learn to sing is giving up my lunch to make the long journey to attend my lesson, I still think it is worth doing, after all, I can learn something new in each lesson and my teacher has corrected many mistakes in my singing.

After teaching me to breathe and to sing with the diaphragm, my new teacher is teaching me to open my jaw and to support my sound with the chest. Now I have finally discovered why I could not sing this song very well even though I had practised it for a long time.

So, Saturday afternoon, I tried to re-translate, re-sing and re-record this song in English and in Chinese in the ways that my teacher has taught me.

I do hope that you find that I have made some progress even though there are still some problems in it. I do hope that my effort will be of some help to you in improving your Chinese listening ability.

MAIN MEANING OF THE SONG

I love you,
the snow of the North of the Great Wall.
Flying and dancing,
all over the sky and the wilderness.

Your figure is so light,
Your heart is so pure and clean.
You are a sister of the spring rain ,
You are the angel who's sent by the spring,
angel is sent by the spring.

I love you,
the snow of the North of the Great Wall.
Flying and dancing,
all over the sky and the wilderness.

You are dressing up the silvery world
with your body as white jade,
You are giving your own life into the land,
to nourish the green turning seedlings of wheat
and the early spring flowers...

ah, ah,
I love you,

ah,ah,
the snow in the North of the Great Wall,
the snow in the North of the Great Wall.
