Shirley Created Music For Chinese Classical Music-0061: You Zi Yin-- A Song By A Son Who Is Far Away

LISTEN TO THE TEXTLISTEN TO SHIRLEY PLAY & SING THE POEM

It is the time for most of the friends to have a reunite with your family at Christmas Eve in many countries. But, for Chinese, we have the similar time at the Chinese New Year's Eve (Spring Festival). Anyway, no matter when we have an opportunity to have a reunite or a dinner with our family, the love between a mother and a son is same.

So, tonight, I created a piece of music to match a famous Chinese classical poem by Tang Dynasty Poet Jia Dao: You Zi Ying -- A Song By A Son Who Is Far Away , and give it to all of the friends and your mothers, also to give it to my own son who is abroad and my mother who is in the other city in China.

I would like to appreciate all of the mothers, for their great love as the sunshine in the spring to cover their children, and to make the world getting beautiful... :-)

I do hope that my singing, playing and the effort on the web site, will be a little bit help to you to know something more about Chinese language and culture. :-)

MAIN MEANING OF THE POEMLISTEN TO SHIRLEY PLAY & SING THE POEM

A Song by A Son Who Is far Away

By Jia Dao ( Tang )

The thread in my mother's hand,
has sewed the clothes on my body.

Every stitch is so close with much carefully,
for she was worrying of me to come back too late.

Who can say that the children's hearts as the little grass,
can return a mothers love as the sunshine in the spring...

ANOTHER TRANSLATION BY THE OTHER:

A Traveller's Song

The thread in the hands of a fond-hearted mother
Makes clothes for the body of her wayward boy;
Carefully she sews and thoroughly she mends,
Dreading the delays that will keep him late from home.
But how much love has the inch-long grass
For three spring months of the light of the sun?
