 LISTEN-SONG BY SHIRLEY
 Hi, Friends, today is the National Day of China. At the special time, I would like to introduce and sing a song Zou Jin Xin Shi Dai, means Walk Into New Times for you. This song is very famous for it has connected three important times of the new China with 3 songs: Dong Fang Hong (Orient Red) that relatives to Mr.Mao Zedong; Chun Tian De Gu Shi (Story in the Spring) that relatives to Mr. Deng Xiaoping -- today's song that relatives the current Chinese leaders. Its beautiful tone and the first singer Ms. Zhang Ye made it very popular in China. Jiang Karong wrote the lyrics, Yin Qing composed the music.
This is one of my favourite songs. However, before my vocal music lesson last night, I had thought that it was a folk song for it was first sung by one of the famous folk musicians Ms. Zhang Ye. But, until last night, after hearing it from the angel as a learner to sing it, I did feel it maybe is an art song because I felt that was sung with art song way, at least it is a folk song that is sung with art song way. :-) And my teacher told that this is a new way to sing a folk song, and it started only few years ago.
This is a "big" song and I sang it the first time, so, there are many places that I have not mastered and my teacher did not think that I could master the breathe to complete the two parts well once. So, she asked me to record the song twice for keeping my strength for the second part. So, maybe you can hear a connection between the two parts. Just hope it is helpful for you to training your ears to understand Chinese more. :-)
