Shirley Created Music For Chinese Classical Poem -0055: Bian Ci -- Lyrics of the Frontier

LISTEN TO THE TEXTLISTEN TO SHIRLEY PLAY & SING THE POEM

Hi, friends, have you been to somewhere that is far away from your homeplace and how do you express your missing heart to your hometown?

Now, I would like to introduce a new Chinese classical poem that was written by Tang Dynasty(618 - 907) poet Zhang Jingzhong Bian Ci -- Lyrics of the Frontier. I enjoy this poem for it has expressed the poet's missing feelings to his hometown with a very artistic style -- to write and compare the different landscapes in both of the local and in his hometown, one is in his eyeshot, the other is in his imagination ? Even though at the same season, one is still a view as the end of the winter and the other is just like the earlier summer... :-)

As usual, I have written a piece of music to match it.

I do hope that my poem comments, music and singing will be a little bit help to your Chinese learning...

MAIN MEANING OF THE POEMLISTEN TO SHIRLEY PLAY & SING THE POEM

Lyrics of the Frontier

Spring has been so later in Wuyuan City since ancient time,
there is no any green leave on the poplars in February yet.
Now, when the ice of the Yellow River starts to melt,
It has the time that flowers are fading in Changan City...
