Shirley Introduced Chinese Popular Song--014: Shangrila No. 1

LISTEN TO RONGZHONG ERJIA SINGING THE SONG

This is the first time that I have been to Shangrila in Yunnan, which just 200 km from Lhasa, and also it is the first time that I have known why it is called "Shangrila" and where Shangrila is...

Anyway, when I heard the song "Shangrila" by our first guide, a young person of Tibetan and Pumi nationalities, I suddenly realized how much the local people loved their hometown and how they sang their own songs from their hearts... because I saw the tears on the young guides face and I saw how the local Tibetans danced and sang with such quick steps and with so much passion...

I realized especially when our second guided, a young Tibetan girl, told us that in Shangrila, all the Tibetan people believe in Tibetan Buddhism and that Tibetan women suffer the lowest incidence of womans illness in the world because they go to see a Living Buddha 3 days after having their babies,   the Living Buddha would then make a judgment about their health from the smell of their emiction.

Because of the length of time they work this way, most of the Living Buddhas become blind and pass away in middle age. I was touched so much and realized for the first time that this is one of the reasons that Tibetan people respect their Living Buddhas...    Also there are so many different customs in this mysterious land

I was deeply touched and I would really like to introduce a local song Shangrila that was written by Gu Xueer and Music By Rong Zhong Er Jia.

I do hope that you enjoy it and that it is little help to you in knowing more about Chinese Culture.

MAIN MEANING OF THE SONGLISTEN TO RONGZHONG ERJIA SINGING THE SONG:

Shangrila

Written by Gu Zuer
Music By Rong Zhong Er Jia

I had wanted to go over the world by horse,
but I have found that here is just my home.
Flowers are blossoming with their beautiful colors in the grassland,
The strong fragrance is coming from far away place.

Ah, Ah, Ah, Ah,
Shangrila,
Beautiful Shangrila,

It was said that Baidumu -- Guanyin settled down here,
to raise up my grandmother.
Since then, people have not left from this land again...

I had wanted to go over the world by horse,
but I have found that here is just my home.
Flowers are blossoming with their beautiful colors in the grassland,
The strong fragrance is coming from far away place.

Ah,Ah, Ah, Ah,
Shangrila,
Beautiful Shangrila,

You look at the mysterious Lhasa with a Saintly heart.
Please hear my affection words from the bottom of my heart,
you are just the most white Hada that I have seen...

Ah鐚 Ah, Ah, Ah,
Shangrila,
Beautiful Shangrila,
Ah鐚 Ah, Ah, Ah,
Shangrila,
I admire her with my life.

Ah, Shangrila,
You are the forever home in my heart...
