The 52nd Friendly Greeting From Shirley, China, Sun, Aug 27, 2006

Hi,Dear Friends

How are you? Have you had a good week? I do hope you are well and have a relaxed and easy weekend.

This week, the biggest feeling is that I suddenly realize that I like my projects work more and more. I do feel that they are something very suitable me for all of them need to work with creative way.

I started to make a dream ? to set up a Chinese Securities Market Data Statistic System from 1992. So, in 1993, I gave up my high salary and wonderful work condition, to take part in the work to found a national financial newspaper office. With the dream, I worked for 7 years and I was successful, my pages and books were welcomed, my paper got the highest award in the industry in 2000. However, for some reason, my project was stopped and changed nothing in the same year. The huge frustration made me almost jumped down from the window of my office on the 20th floor. Anyway, I was lucky for whole of the process, I had not been stopping to learn something new, for about 3 years, I flied from Shenzhen to Shanghai to listen to the lessons by the best professors in my weekends and holidays. From 1996 to 2002, I spent almost all of my free time to learn world economics, journalism and international business management while I was so busy on my work. Just in April, 1997, I flied to Beijing 4 times one month and sometimes, I was in 3 cities one day ? from Shenzhen to Shanghai, after an examination in a university in Shanghai, I flied to Beijing to work in the afternoon, several times, I almost missed my airplane for I was reading something in the airport. The continuous learning helped me to have a quick responding ability and high efficiency work on anything that the company asks me to do. So, in 2005, when my project was re-started, I felt quite easy to work on it with a happy heart daily. I do hope to create something best and to make it to be a summary in this field before I finish my employee life.

The second and the third projects asked me to study the best companies that have similar businesses with us in the world, to learn something new in the management field every day. I do feel good to have a so big room to think of how to organize a business with our Television, web sites, magazine and newspaper; to think of how to collocate our resource of researching, development, maintenance, marketing and service on the different positions; How to lead and to manage a team with a high education background. I am interested in my researching work for it is not something on the paper, but it is often a decision or a proposal to adjust something, to change some process or work, to add or cancel one or two departments. So, one side, I feel honor and an achievement feeling, the other side, I feel a big press for it is too important and we can not make a big mistake... I enjoy my work for its challenge and creative way. I love my company work more and more, just like the way that I love my painting, music in my free time...

Do you love your work in your company? Do you have any hobby in your free time?

Chinese Xieyi--093(Flower & Bird): What a Red Waterlily!
First time, I made my painting includes a line, calligraphy, picture and stamp on it. My original plan was to do that on my 100th Xieyi painting and 100th Gouache. However, I could not help to try after I completd my painting in my art lesson on Wednesday evening. I wrote several kinds of calligraphy on it and you have to read them from right to left. The red stamp over the picture is my name stamp and the one on the right and below corner is my Xian Stamp with some words I like -- Tian Dao Chu Qin, means the Natural Principles Is to Return the Hardworking. My teacher satisfied with this picture and thought that my Chinese painting level has equaled the second grade student’s of a traditional Chinese painting department in the art college. Anyway, I should leave more room between the stone and water, the grass should be improved. Can you find the picture number that I have hidden in the picture? Also, I have missed to paint something on a bird. Can you find what that is?

Chinese Popular Song--007: The Shadow of the Fence Wall
Now when we are facing the lovely change in China along with the opening and reform of China, when we see the young city people are finding their happy lives freely, we can not imagine what had happened in China just 20 years ago, especially in the countryside then. This song is from a Television Play that writes a story that took place in a far away little mountain village maybe 70,s or 80's. how a young girl got marry her husband according to their parents' assumpsit before both of they were born and suffered pain from her marriage and how she finished her arranged (forced) marriage and went forward her new life. This song is just singing the change in the village along with the time and hope you enjoy it.

Chinese Classical Poem 0053 & Shirley Created Music-0043: Heart in the South and Body in the North
Do you have any experience that your body is in a place, but your heart is in another place? In Chinese culture, we call this situation is "Shen zhai Cao ying xin zai Han", it is an idiom from a story that in the Three Kingdoms Times (A.D. 222 -- A.D.280), a spy who was working for Han in the Cao barbak of Wei, but, his heart was in Han. Now, we use it to express the meaning that a person's body is here and his heart is there. The poem expresses the similar meaning. But, it wrote how the poet's heart was going back his hometown in the South with the clouds in the sky when his body was moving to the North with the wild geese together. I have written a piece of music to match it and and hope you enjoy them.

Chinese in Current Affairs-0019(Sentence"150--152): How to Say "Who Will Support China's Economy in 50 Years?"
In 50's China, most of parents had 4 or 5 children. In 70's, most of families had 2 children, but in today's China, most of families have only one child. China has controlled its population increase successfully in the past 30 years. Anyway, another new problem has come to the country, that is just every two children will have to support 4 old parents in the near future...So, today, I would like to offer you some new sentences on this topic and hope it is a little bit help to your Chinese learning.

I am just a learner on art, music, English and the work on the web site in my free time. Anyway, I would really like to do a little bit things with what I have learned to make this little web site to beAn Electronic Bridge Of Culture Exchange, Friendship, and Language Learning. During the process to help the others and to improve myself. :-)

I do appreciate your understanding, directions and supports. I do hope to get your great help continuously now and in the coming time...
