Complete One of Mother's Last Wishes-- Shirley's 240th Friendly Greeting--Feb 14 -16, 2010

Hi,Dear Friends

Happy Chinese New Year!

How are you? Is everything well with you? I do hope that you are doing well and enjoy your new week.

I am so happy for I have a 9 days' Chinese New Year's Holiday since Feb 13 to Feb 21, 2010.

Even though it is the time that a family members reunion, instead of having a traveling to Australia or a Chinese city to visit my family members, or accept an invitation from my friends, I choose to be in Shenzhen to spend the holiday alone.

As soon as I came back from the US, my mother was sick, then she passed away, then I myself was sick... I have been looking forward to be alone for a while. To read, think, write, and create something quietly, to order my mother’s music sheets and to play something on her music instrument... After all, since 2005, I have been creating music for Chinese classical poems accordind to her wishes. I do want to complete her last wishes, to help the others while to improve myself.

I am lucky enough that a president of a university publish house is thinking of helping me to make my dream to be true. One of the reasons that I chose this publish house for my mother was a student in this university.

So, except having a dinner on Chinese New Year's Eve with one of my best friends and classmates - Dr. Qi Bin and her mother and daughter since she told me that her mother who is 82 years old wanted to meet me, see my painting and listen to my singing, I have been learning and working on my art of painting, music and language.

I have created a new painting to match a Chinese classical poem, I have also created a piece of music to match the poem and the painting.

During the process of the creation, I suddenly understood a Chinese idiom: Mei Qi He Zi - take a tree of plum blossom for one's wife and cranes for children. It is from a story that the hermit and poet Lin Bu who had been in Hangzhou in the Song Dynasty (960-1279). Instead of getting marry anyone, he planted plum blossom and raised cranes for whole of his life. His famous poems of plum blossom has been spreading until now.

Truly, I really find that there are so much beautiful in the multicolor Spiritual/Art World. It is full of the enjoyment. So, I would really like to do my best to create something best and to share the wonderful world with you and more people together.

Because my eyes cannot see clear yet, it is very difficult for me to work on the computer -- the glasses store that I have been working with for 15 years, has custom-ordered a couple of multi-functional glasses for me from Germany. I will get it in at least 3 weeks.

So, here is just a letter to say Hello to you and hope you take care and have a good new week.
