Hi,Dear Friends

How are you? I do hope that you are well and have an easy and relaxed weekend.

This is the first week of autumn. In the company, except the works of television, Web sites and magazine, we are doing the testing of two new products of mobile phone and mini computers. Via some cooperation with two manufacturers, their machines and our information were combined together to create some individual new products. They will be put into the market in the middle of September.

I am working on more and more business and management jobs. I enjoy them for they are something creative with much challenge and many studying opportunities.

In my free time, I also started something new.

First of all, my new vocal music teacher is teaching me to sing in Italian. Wow! It is so difficult to pronounce the letter "R". I have pronounced it at least 1000 times, I have not mastered it well. But, I am interested in it for it is really a totally different feeling to sing with another tone and in another language. Can you imagine? I have learned my first Italian song by Guilio Caccini ? Amarlli, mia Bella already.

I am lucky that my new teacher thought, that I am the one who is worth her to spend more time to teach. So she has adjusted my lesson from the list of many students on Sunday to Friday evening for me only.

The second beginning is that first time I have tried to make an improvisational accompany with piano for myself this weekend. My first vocal music teacher is thinking of leaving for the other city. So she did not offer me a lesson on Saturday. It is bad and it is good. The good is that has forced me to make accompany with piano by myself and it is forcing me to play piano for more time.

The third thing is that I have re-started to have a running in the early morning since the hottest summer has gone. Few times, I run back home with the fastest speeding as a 100 meter athlete in the suddenly rain. I felt funny and be happy for it was reminding me that I am in a very healthy situation. Can you imagine? My new music teacher and her husband thought I was only "35 years old" with a young feature and young voice and they did not believe that my son has been 21 years old already.

So autumn is the harvest season; it is also a new beginning time. Right?

What is your new beginning in the new season? Do you enjoy autumn and its cool weather?

Shirley Created Combined Art -- 014: A Song of Autumn
A picture should include the meaning of a poem and a poem should have a picture in it, this is an import view in ancient Chinese painting and poetry theory. Many great poets were great artists. I feel the learning from them is helping me to create with a wider eye view and a bigger imagine room. Even though I had not expressed my thought well every time, my teacher has given me three 90 marks in my past 13 combined paintings. I got the first 95 marks for the painting last week. Anyway, I do not satisfy my newest painting, I will correct it later. What is your thought about it?

Shirley Created Art -- Chinese Xieyi 0152: A Clear Pool
Ha, after completing most of my work on the web site, I just realized that I had forgotten this picture. So I put it here quickly and hope you enjoy it. My teacher thought that my painting has made much progress, but it lacks some big verve, so he wanted me to paint with A Big Chinese Xieyi style, to paint with a very big brush and do not allow to draft it. How do you think of this picture? Do you like it?

Bilingual Song--007: Shirley Sung a China Art Folk Song "Why Are the Flowers so Red?" in English & Chinese
Friday night, I learned a new song in Italian. I can not master the letter "R" yet. So I translated a Chinese song and I wanted to sing it Saturday night. But, my first vocal teacher is in Beihai. So I had to accompany myself for my English singing. I have played more than 80 pieces of my created music with electronic organ. I had not done that with piano. You can imagine how hurry-scurry when I worked on piano, English and singing at the same time. Then it is also a good thing to work independently. The quality of my first improvisational accompany is not good and it has affected my singing. So, I will do more practice. I do hope that my effort will be a little bit help to you to know more about Chinese culture and language.

Chinese Classical Poem 0095 -- 0023(By Du Mu) & Shirley Created Music-0081--03:Ji Yangzhou Hanchuo Pan Guan -- An Song of Autumn
Autumn is a harvest season and it is a season to miss a family, a friend or a lover in the far away place. Many Chinese poems have expressed this kind of feelings. The Chinese poetry thinks a good poem should have picture and music in it. I enjoy this poem by Tang Dynasty poet Du Mu, for it has "painted out" a beautiful painting of landscape with a simple language. In the "picture", you can hear some music. I had created a piece of music to match it on Dec, 2005. This week, I have created a new painting and calligraphy to match it from the other angles and hope you enjoy them and be a little bit help to you to improve your Chinese.

I am just a learner on art, music, English and the work on the web site in my free time. Anyway, I would really like to do a little bit things with what I have learned to make this little web site to be An Electronic Bridge Of Culture Exchange, Friendship and Language Learning. During the process to help the others and to improve myself.

I do appreciate your understanding, directions and supports. I do hope to get your great help continuously now and in the coming time...
