This is my 59th Combined Paintingthat I have created / painted for Chinese Classical Poetry, and my 662nd painting since 2003 ; also, it is my 35th assignment in Chinese National Academy of Arts.
Since I started to learn Chinese Xieyi Painting, My tutor - Prof. Tao Hui taught me to paint plum blossoms, but, until the spring 2010, when my hands could not carry a brush for the edema, I just understood why Chinese love this flowers and since there, I just really started to observe it.
This Spring Festival, in my travel, I found some yellow plum blossoms in the garden of my brother. With an excited heart, I went out of the house to paint from the nature, even though the wind blew into my bone and felt so cold, I just found in fact there are some leaves on the trees of the plum blossoms when they have blossomed and I had so many new feelings about the quality of the flowers.
So, as soon as I came back home, I painted for two days, and now, I have completed this new painting, to match a Chinese classical poem by Gao Shi(704 - 765) in Tang Dynasty (618 - 907).
Usually, Send-off is a sad thing. But, in this poem, we cannot see any sadness, but much encouragement with a very positive life attitude.
I have been appreciating this kind of optimistic emotions in the poem and I have been encouraging myself with this kind of positive emotion and life attitude since I read it first time.
Therefore, I had created a piece of music for it in Nov, 2005. Then I created a painting for it in July, 2010. Now, in Jan, 2012, by the good help from my good friends Mrs. Xiaogang Z., Mr. Mike, J, Mr. William G., Dr. Dennis H. and my music tutor -- Prof. Meng Weiye, I have re-translated the poem, corrected the music, re-written the comment and re-sung it and re-corded the singing and comments.
I really hope that our effort will be some help with you to learn Chinese culture, art and language.
Main Meaning of the Poem
Yellow clouds stretch for a thousand miles, covering the sun ( sunlight ),
The north wind blows the wild geese through the flurrying snow.
Don't worry there is no a bosom friend on the future road,
In the world there is no one who does not know you.
