This is my 33th Combined Paintingthat I created for Chinese Classical Poetry, It is also my 509th painting since 2003 and Also, it is the 36th (58th) painting (practice) that I have created in 2010.
Do you know why I did not want to go to the US in 2008?
A simple reason was that I was working on exploring my own unique style to help poeple to learn Chinese cultures with paintings, music and language. After creating music for about 83 Chinese classical poems since 2005, I started to create both of music and paintings for them since 2007, and I just started to work on the classical lyrics. I did not want to stop my work...
However, after I came back from the US in 2009, then in 2010, I did feel that was a very precious experience and it was helping my work and exploring.
Therefore, I have been trying to re-work on it once, once and once, for improving its quality, no matter on the music, painting and language since I came back from the US.
This week, I created 4 eagles to match the poem/lyrics -- Xian Jian Hua --Joy in the Meeting by Li Yu ( 937 - 978), because I did not think that I created the painting in 2007 was good enough to match the meaning of the lyrics Xiangjian Huan -- Joy at Meeting by Li Yu ( 937 - 978), as a failed hero, a captive emperor, how to miss his former country.
Even though I worked very hard, I did not think the eagle is painted well yet. I sent it to my art teacher via email and he just gave me 60 - 70 on the eagle, but the backgroud part 90.
So, I will re-create it as soon as I have time.
MEANING OF THE LYRIC
Silent, climb the west tower alone,
to see the moon like hook.
Lonesome phoenix tree in the deep yard
is locked in the autumn.
Can鈥檛 be cut to sever,
Can鈥檛 be combed clear,
It is the grief of parting.
An unspeakable taste is in my heart.
