Title: Shirley's Art Works 635-A26 & Chinese Xieyi 337: Shirley's 8th Assignment in Chinese Academy of Arts Nov 06 - 13,2011
Artist: Shirley Zhang
Size: 91.00cm x 180.00 cm (35.82inches x 70.86 inches)
Completed Time: Nov 06 - 13,2011
Remarks:
This is my 337th Chinese Xieyi Painting and my 635th painting since 2003, the 8th assignment in Chinese National Academy of Arts since Oct 10 (I came here on Oct 7 and Started the study on Oct 10), 2011.

I was shame when I updated this new painting to the column. Because I found that I had not painted any Chinese Xieyi Painting for about 3 months already.

Even though I had so many reasons that I went to USA, I was working on Chinese Gongbi painting and so on, as an art student who is major Chinese painting, I should paint a paint a Chinese Xieyi every day. So, now, I do appreciated my father for it was him to ask me to paint a painting with pine trees and red-crowned cranes for his elder brother - my uncle’s 90 years old birthday. Therefore, I painted this painting by learning from Mr. Ren Bonian. Then I just realized that I have not painted any Chinese Xieyi painting for so long time.

I worked on this painting for 7 days, since Nov 6 to Nov 13 except attending my lessons for 2 days. Because it is a bit big so that I felt a little bit difficult to complete it, several times, I wanted to give up it and to paint a small size one. Anyway, I kept working on it no matter how not easy for me to stand by it every day.

I felt so tired and ache everywhere when I completed it, my heart was so easy and so relaxed, so that I could not help painting it once more for I did want to make more practice. Also, I wanted to use the method that Dr.Professor Yao Mingjing taught us in China Central Academy of Fine Arts, to change it from Chinese Xieyi to be a Chinese Gongbi.

Can you imagine? My classmates said that the red-crowned cranes in my second painting were smiling. so that I could not help smiling to work on it and I will let you see it tomorrow or the day after tomorrow.

How do you think of the first one? Do you enjoy it?
