Title: Chinese Xieyi--067(Flower & Bird):Do You Enjoy Her Bamboo Leaves? :-)
Artist: Shirley Zhang
Size: 70cm x 70cm
Completed Time: Wed, March 15,2006
Remarks:
This is my 67th Chinese Xieyi (Freehand brushworks) painting in my art lesson. Instead of using colors to paint my birds, first time, I learned to paint them with Chinese ink only. "Painting of Water and Chinese Ink" is one of Chinese paintings. It is more difficult to master for it needs higher painting skills. Also, this time, my teacher did not allow me to change the size of my brushes and asked me complete this picture with same size brushers -- very big ones -- even when I painted the eyes of the birds -- I had changed a smaller and harder brush to paint the detail before and my teacher thoughts that was not good for master a high art skill... :-)

My teacher thought my leaves of the bamboos just liked the claws of a rooster so that I must do much more practices... :-) I made a joke that maybe for I had not had dinner before I had my lesson, so I lacked the power to paint the leaves… : - )

How do you think of my new picture? Do you agree with my teacher? :-)
