Title: Shirley Created Art -- Chinese Xieyi 0132:Wow! Flowers Have Blossomed
Artist: Shirley Zhang
Size: 268cm x 67cm
Completed Time: Thursday, April 15, 2007
Remarks:
This is my 132nd Chinese Xieyi painting that I created in my art lesson Thursday night.

Also, it is the 3rd time that I worked on my long scroll. Along with the picture is changed longer and longer, my paint board is too small to work. So, I had to get my two biggest paint boards together, one side on my desk, the other side on my sofa. Anyway, that was only a provisional way to deal with the current problem and also my biggest board is just the biggest one in the local art store already. So, my teacher said that he would ask a professional company to design and make a at least 3.6 meters long one for me.

In fact, when I paint a Gouache Painting, I use a paint board and an easel as most of painters. But, when I paint a Chinese Xieyi or Chinese Gongbi painting, I have to work on a desk as you. Because Chinese colors are just like some colored water and it can flow on the paper or something else. Also, for the paper of Chinese Xieyican be soaked by color. So, when I paint it, I have to use a piece of felt below my paper. So a too wet Chinese painting can not be moved before it is dry.

Once more, my teacher satisfied with my work and I got 90 marks for my work.

How do you see this picture? Do you enjoy it?
