Remarks:
This is my 696thChinese Xieyi Painting and my 1205th painting since 2003and My 501st assignment and 91st painting in the study of the second phase as a candidate of Degree of Master of Fine Arts of Chinese National Academy of Arts.

After experiencing a big frustration – because of the hurt on my ankle, I could not go back my school to attend the Thesis Proposal Conference in Beijing, even though I had bought the airplane tickets, I would have to be delayed to graduate and get my MFA later for one year... I have gone out of the bad emotion along with the time by the good help of my supervisor /tutor.

Until this Monday, I could read and paint with a calm heart. After reading a book by Mr. Shi Dao(1642-1708) in Qing Dynasty (1644 - 1911), I realized that Chinese painting emphasizes that a painting should come from the heart of an artist...

So, when I painted this painting, instead of painting a pure landscape, I paid more attention to express the feeling of the boy by the gate -- His mother has not come back from her job on picking up the water chestnut, he was waiting for her back by the gate...

When I was painting, I could not help thinking of my son, when he was young, he had to wait for me back every night when I was working in the newspaper office … suddenly I felt the stones and the grass on my picture have changed alive with some feelings...

How do you think of this painting? Do you enjoy it?
