Title: My Pen Sketch from Nature-146: Yuan Wei - Wall Iris (Iris tectorum): Shirley's 296th Assignment of Chinese National Academy of Arts -May 8, 2014
Artist: Shirley Yiping Zhang
Size: 41.00cm x 60.00cm ( 16.14.00inches x 23.62 inches)
Completed Time: May 8, 2014
Remarks:
This is my 13rd pen sketch since March 25, 2014.

I found some Yuanwei -- Wall Iris (Iris tectorum) out gate of the school, they were very small and thin. Anyway, as a student who is major in the flower and bird paintings, I thought I should paint them.

So, I went to paint them as soon as I finished my Chinese Roses.

Since they were very young, I tried to carry them together and fixed this painting.

When I was painting, it was windy, very often, the dust flew on my face and sometimes came into mouth. I kept working on it since I knew I would go to attend the lesson of the dean on May 8, and go to be a volunteer teacher for about 20 elder ladies and I would not certainly have time to come back to paint them with a pencil. So, I kept painting, until I finished it at the dinner time.

Then, next morning, I went to the classroom early and ordered it before Professor Man Weiqi – the Executive Associate Dean of Chinese Painting School at Chinese National Academy of Arts walked into the classroom.

How do you think of this painting? Do you enjoy it?
