Remarks:
This is my 6th pen sketch in Springfield, MO, USA Oct 13-14, 2013.
I painted it on the campus of Missouri State University, by a fountain near the university’s concert hall.
On Oct 13, 2013, Mrs. Harriet Mears -- my "American Mother" who offered me a free accommodation for 10 days in her house April 28 - May 8, 2010 invited me to have a lunch in an Italian restaurant and I sent her two of my new Chinese Mogu Paintings that I painted for her specially to express my endless appreciation to her good help and so much apologies for the painting that she would like to have did not be delivered to her for some reasons after I left for China ahead my plan on May 25, 2010.
On the road she sent me back home, I got off ahead on the campus for I wanted to paint from the nature.
At once, I was attracted by the bright red of the cannas, so that I could not help stopping by them and to paint. It was noon and the sunshine was very hot, then I did not want to stop.
Suddenly, I heard someone call me. Do you know who he was? Mr. Brad Bodenhausen - the Former Executives Manager of Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce, one of the sponsors of my first art exhibition, a very important friend and leader who had helped me to make my long-term art dream to be true.
I was so happy to meet him here when I was painting on the campus. Then I knew that he was also working at Missouri State University. Then, he should be one of my tutors as well. :-)
With a big smile, we had a good talking.
Then I completed my painting after working on it for a bout 5 hours.
