Title: My Sketch from Nature-133 ( The 5th One in USA): Shirley's 235th Assignment of Chinese National Academy of Arts -Oct 10, 2013
Artist: Shirley Yiping Zhang
Size: 35.00cm x 44.00cm (14.00 inches x 17.00inches) Pen on Sketchbook
Completed Time: Oct 10, 2013
Remarks:
This is my 5th pen sketch from nature at the crossroads between Madison and Kimphrun, Springfield, MO, USA Oct 10, 2013.

Since I bought a new sketch book Oct 2, 2013, I have been carrying it no matter where I go, for I did not want to miss anything I wanted to paint at all. :- )

Every day, I go through a crossroads, I cannot help stopping my step to take some photos for some monthly roses. Thursday afternoon, after attending a Bible lesson and had a Chinese food in the first Chinese restaurant that I found by myself, I went back home through the crossroads and my eyes were attracted by the beautiful flowers one more.

Even though the wind was big, the sunshine was strong, and the cars run through the crossroad almost every minutes, they could not affect my emotion to paint.

After standing by them for about 3 hours, I did not very satisfy it yet, but a lady and her daughter whom I knew casually would come to me to learn Chinese poetry and Chinese painting at 6:00 pm. So, quickly I finished my job at 5:00pm.

The more I painted, the more I felt the paper was too small for me. So, I was thinking to open the sketch book and to paint one sketch on two paper, then I did on my 6 th sketch... :-)

How do you think of this sketch? Do you enjoy it? Where do you think I should improve it?
