Remarks:
This is my 796th painting since 2003and the 434th Chinese Xieyi Painting, the 192nd assignment that I have completed in Chinese National Academy of Arts .

This is the 14th painting that I painted for the series stories and my long scroll《二十四孝》: Er Shi Si Xiao Tu -- The Twenty-Four Dutiful Children .

This story names 汉文帝亲尝汤药: Han Wen Di Qing Chang Tangyao -- Emperor Wen of Han Tasted the Medicine for His Mother in Person.

Emperor Wen of Han (202 B.C. –157 B.C) was the fifth emperor of the Han Dynasty (206 BC to 221). His given name was Liu Heng, He was famous except his outstanding achievement on governing China, but also for his filial piety and be kind to his mother.

Emperor Wen of Han’s birth mother -- Queen Mother Bo was often sick. For about 3 years, he looked after his mother in person, often he went to sleep with his clothes and did not close his eyes for whole of the night. He would always taste the medicine for his mother at the first, to see whether it was too hot or too bitter, then to offer his mother.

During he was the emperor of the Han Dynasty for 24 years, he paid more attention to govern the country with the benevolent rule style, encouraged the etiquette, developed the agriculture, made the social stable, had a flourishing population, economy was recovered and developed very well. The times of He and Emperor Jing of Han was just the famous “文景之治: Wen jing Zhi Zhi - the Rule of Wen and Jing” of Han Dynasty

How do you think of this painting and this story? Do you enjoy them?
