Completed Time: Feb 7, 2013
Remarks:
This is my 784th painting since 2003and the 425th Chinese Xieyi Painting, the 178th assignment that I have completed in Chinese National Academy of Arts .

This is the 21st painting of the series stories 《二十四孝》: Er Shi Si Xiao Tu -- The Twenty-Four Dutiful Children . I painted it by learning from Mr. Ren Bonian,

The story names 杨香扼虎救父 -- Yang Xiang Clutched the Tiger to Save His Father.

Yang Xiang lived in Jin Dynasty (265 -- 420). When he was 14 years old, he went to reap the rice with his father together. Suddenly a fierce tiger attacked his father down and held him in its mouth. At this moment, there was no weapon in his hands, Yang Xiang did not care for his own safety, but he leapt on the fierce tiger and clutched its throat closely with whole of his strength.

Finally, the fierce tiger put down his father and run away.

I was smiling when I painted this painting and I was so happy for the father was saved by his young, brave son. I would really like to express the dangerous and moved moment with the special lines of Chinese painting... :-)

How do you think of my new painting? Do you enjoy it?

I really hope that my effort will be some help with you to learn Chinese culture and art.
