Title: Shirley's Art Works 767 & Xieyi 421-A131-Shirley's 164th Assignment in Chinese National Academy of Arts --Dec 20, 2012
Artist: Shirley Zhang
Size: 105.00cm x 148.00cm (41.33 inches x 58.27 inches ) - Chinese Ink on Paper
Completed Time: Dec 20, 2012
Remarks:
This is and my 767th painting , the 421st Chinese Xieyi Painting, my 79th Landscape ( the 16th Chinese Ink Landscape) and my 165th assignment in Chinese National Academy of Arts since Oct 7, 2011.

I painted this painting by learning from Fan Kuan (990–1020) -- one of the greatest artists in Song Dynasty (960–1279).

I worked on it for 15 days and completed tonight.

It is one of the most difficult works I have done in Beijing while I have also learned so much from it indeed.

Do you know?

After checking up my latest landscapes, Prof. Xu Jun -- the Assistant Dean of Graduate School at CNAA, Prof. Liu Wanming -- the Assistant Dean of Chinese Painting School at CNAA thought that I have done some good jobs and the basic breath of the paintings were right; Prof. Man Weiqi -- the Executive Assistant Dean of Chinese Painting School at CNAA who is in charge of our classes said that if I was major in landscape, I would be able to do it well. At the same time, three of them pointed out some problems on my paintings and taught me how to improve my paintings. Many students surprised of my progresses and thought that my landscapes are better than my flower and bird paintings… :- )

With a grateful heart to the good education of the school and my professors, I have borrowed a bigger ancient painting by Li Tang who was one of the greatest artists in South Song Dynasty from the school already, I will not go back Shenzhen before I complete it.

Even though the central heating has not been fixed ok in the classrooms yet, even though it will be another quite difficult job as well, I will cherish the learning opportunity to learn from these best professors in China in the art school and keep learning as much as possible with my limited time in Beijing, for the dream to service for more people with what I have learned…

How do you think of this painting? Do you enjoy it?
