Title: Shirley's Art Works 691 & Chinese Xieyi 371-A63: Shirley's 79th Assignment in Chinese National Academy of Arts May 1-3, 2012
Artist: Shirley Zhang
Size: 48cm x 180cm (18.89cm x 70.86cm)
Completed Time: May 3, 2012
Remarks:
This is my 371st Chinese Xieyi Painting and my 691 painting since 2003, the 79th assignment in Chinese National Academy of Arts.

My former Chinese painting teacher did not allow me to draft with a pencil when I painted a Chinese Xieyi painting, so that I thought that a Chinese Xieyi painting does not allow to draft and I painted without any draft for 8 years.

But, since I went to China Central Academy of Fine Arts in 2010, then I came to CNAA, I just knew that a Chinese Xieyi painting also can be drafted. Therefore, I have been drafting since I entered the art college.

Even though many classmates advised me not draft. I kept drafting for I wanted to learn from 0.

However, in the evening May 1, I was in the emotion to paint this painting without a draft, then I tried it. But, I didn’t have time to complete it since the teaching building would be locked.

Therefore, I completed it after I came back from Shidu.

How do you think of this painting? Do you enjoy it?
