This is my 344th Chinese Xieyi Painting and my 642nd painting since 2003, the 14th assignment in Chinese National Academy of Arts since Oct 7, 2011.
After painting flowers for a while, I wanted to paint something " Simple", therefore, I painted this one.
But, when I colored the white on the back of the painting, it seemed like I should not color the back parts of the birds. So, I decided to paint it once more next day.
Anyway, Sunday morning, when I was working in the classroom, one of my classmate tutor - Mr. Peng Mingli thought that I had created a good and unexpected art result.
No matter what the others said, I re-started to paint this painting.
My original idea was to paint this painting once more, but, after I painted the eyes of the birds ok, I suddenly had an idea, I wanted to color them as blue or white, therefore, I colored them as blue and I changed the colors of the leaves.
Many classmates thought that I did a good job.
Anyway, one of my classmate tutor -- Mr. Xu Maowang told me that I would read some more book to make sure how the wings of the birds look like, then, I would be able to do my jobs better.
I did appreciate him for his advance, then I checked and observe the birds online Sunday night.
Do you know why Chinese artists enjoy painting this kind of the birds? Its pronunciation is An Chun, in Chinese An means Safety. With this partial tone, we paint this kind of birds, sent the painting with the birds to our family members or friends, to wish them happy and safe.
How do you think of the two paintings? Which one seems like better?
