Artist: Shirley Zhang
Size: 30.50cm x 283cm (12.00inches x 111.41inches)
Completed Time: March 21, 2011
Remarks:
This is and my 584th painting since 2003, the 44th Landscape Painting (4th Chinese Ink Landscape); my 60th assignment in China Central Academy of Fine Arts and 414th Chinese Xieyi Painting.

Last Sunday,I worked until 2:40am. Except reading the Bile before going to sleep, I was attracted by the Landscape Painting by Chinese ink so much.

Since I came to CAFA, I have been listening to the words: try to pursue the change of the lines, try to create the "breath of Chinese ink",try to keep the relationship of the Ying and Yang and so on. until this week, when I re-started to learn to paint the landscape with Chines ink, I just started to feel the beautiful feelings these ideas.

It is helping me to understand why the Chinese landscape painting has been seemed like the main stream of the Chinese literati paintings since Qing Dyanisty.

Maybe for I was majored in Chinese classical literature and language and then taught them for a long time, I do feel that I can understand the thoughts and feelings of the artists, so that the more I learn them, the more I wanted to paint them... :-)

With so many new feelings, I completed this long scroll. Even though it is quite childlike still, some classmates thought that I have done a good job and even made a joke that I should give up the bird and flower paintings and focus on the landscape paintings. :-)

How do you think of my new painting? Do you enjoy this kind of Chinese painting?
