Title: Shirley Created Art 472th - Chinese Xieyi -249-01-04: Orchids -- Dec 27-28, 2009
Artist: Shirley Zhang
Size: 34 cm x 68 cm ( 13.39 inches x 26.78 inches)
Completed Time: Dec 27-28, 2009
Remarks:
This is my 249thChinese Xieyi Painting and my 472th painting since 2003.

I had my first Chinese art lesson after my mother passed away and I myself went out of the hospital after two operations.

After learning Chinese Xieyi for more than 6.5 years, my teacher started to teach me to paint orchids with ink only.

It is the most difficult painting in Chinese Xieyi filed. Because, it is created by Chinese ink only, there is no any help by the colors. Meanwhile, there are no many brushes on the painting, so, it is a higher art skill.

Maybe for I just left from the hospital, I felt so tired when my teacher was showing me how I paint, that my teacher suggested me to cancel the lesson. I answered was No since I had not had any art lesson for about 4 weeks, it is a quite big lose for me already. After all, it is not easy to have a teacher who has kept for 7 years to teach me in my place no matter it was raining or windy out side. After all, as an art professor, he has too many students already. All of the other students attend his lesson in the classrooms or his art studies. I am the only one whom to be offered a lesson by my teacher this way. I should and I wanted to cherish every lesson and to learn and to create something best.

So, I kept not only completing this painting in the lesson, I tried another three ones before going to sleep and next morning since 5:00am, before I went to my office at about 7:30am:

How to do think of my first Orchids works? Do you enjoy the pure Chinese Ink Painting?
