Title: Shirley Created Art -- Chinese Xieyi -- 0117: Double Beauty
Artist: Shirley Zhang
Size: 70cm x 70cm
Completed Time: Wednesday, Jan 17, 2007
Remarks:
My teacher was surprised for my progress on the last three pictures that I have created in my extracurricular time and he could not help to mention how I had painted my first bird with Chinese Xieyi Style in Nov, 2003. How I did not want to paint a Chinese Xieyi painting and even when he was talking something about the technique of this kind of pictures, I was getting sleepy. :-) But now, I have had the go-aheadism to create by myself and also the level of these pictures has become the symbol that my Chinese Painting level has been able to support me to be a professional artist. :-) So that he said that he has really felt a huge achievement feeling for my progress in the short a few years. After all, I could have only 1 lesson every week for 2 or 3 hours.

So, my teacher decided to make some innovation to train me and he would assign a topic before a lesson is finished for next time and then, he will check my homework to see what I have done and gives me a comment about my works before a new lesson.

Also, I was asked to re-create the pictures with the two birds in my 116th Chinese Xieyi Paining and to correct the problems in it.

I felt it is better than last one, my teacher thought that was a good works, but, he did not satisfy with my work on the left part still and he did not think that I should paint the little flowers there, and I should leave that room for the title, my name and time with Chinese calligraphy, since I had painted the flowers there, then, I have to reduce something in my calligraphy part. :-)

Wow! I do have a serious and responsible Chinese art teacher and I do agree with the comments. :-)

How do you think of this picture? Do you think it is better than last one?
