Title: Chinese Xieyi--055(Flower & Bird): A Little Sketch Of Water Lily
Artist: Shirley Zhang
Size: 35cm x 70cm
Completed Time: Wed, Nov 23, 2005
Remarks:
This is my 55th Chinese Xie Yi picture. After painting the picture of chrysanthemum with Chinese Gong Bi style for 18 hours last Saturday, I burnt out myself so that I felt sickness as soon as I saw the too thin lines. As a relaxed and funny rest, my teacher asked me to stop paint with Chinese Gong Bi style and to complete a water lily with Chinese Xie Yi style within 15 minutes. I painted 2 ones during my art lesson on Wednesday evening, but I needed for about 25 minutes to complete one. I do feel it is not easy to make a good composition with brushers directly quickly and also I feel that a simple water lily sometimes is more difficult than a complex chrysanthemum, because there is much blank in the paper. Anyway, I enjoy this way to relax and to have a rest... :-)
