The Good Offers & Kind Responding from Mrs. Wanda Nova from USA-- Sep 26, 2013
I was lucky enough for I had known Mrs. Wanda Nova in my 6th free Chinese painting workshops in Springfield, Sep 22, 2009. Since there, we have been good friends via Emails.

In 2013, as soon as I came back China from City of Pikeville, Kentucky, but I wished to go back to Springfield, Missouri to hear the feedback of my new book and DVD since it had not been published when I was in Pikeville yet. And this travel should be perfected in 2011.

It was she to help me to connect her school's leaders to approve me to offer some Chinese painting and Chinese poetry classes for her students at her schools, picked up me in Springfield, reserved the motel in Seymour, offered traffic support and did everything to help her students and me.

During the time, she kept working as a volunteer to speak Bible for the prisoners in a prison and she had done this jobs for 13 years already.

By the wonderful support of her school leaders and Mrs. Wanda's serious and kind help, my Chinese poetry and Chinese painting teaching work got applause and welcome.

Also it was she, to connect the Ava Art Guild and more than 30 artists shared my cross-culture and comprehensive art that I have been studying, thinking and exploring for 12 years...

Generally speaking, she could stop to help me after my work finished in her school, however, she is still working hard to help me...

Belong is one of her letters to me. After reading this letter, I guess you would partly understand why Mrs. Wanda Nova did so much to help a foreigner as me. Except her original kind nature, I do think she has a very far-sight and deep understanding what role that art plays in the development of human being and in the education system.

Dear Shirley,

Hello!   Thank you for the reply.   I loved helping you and my students and I enjoyed the workshops very much.   I read your blog this morning but haven't seen all of the photos yet.

SDATA stands for Southwest District Art Teachers Association.   It covers all the schools in the southwest corner of Missouri for all of the art teachers.   This event would allow all of the art teachers in the various schools to come and see what you do.   I'm sure many of them would like for you to come to their schools if you are interested.

You might make a presentation to Art Scholastic for a magazine.   I could get you the information if you are interested in talking with them.

There is a big push in the schools to do multicultural and cross curricular lessons.   We must start teaching Common Core.   Art is just now coming out with Common Core.   Our lessons are to be alligned with the national Common Core Standards.

Your lessons cross into Art, Music, and English.   Technicallly, you could speak to any of those teachers and classes as well.

Let me know if you will be able to go to lunch with us Sunday at 12:30 pm.

Our life group asked me to convey the message that they enjoyed having you at our Life Group and invited you to come again any time.   If you would like to come again this Sunday we would be happy to take you.

I hope you have a wonderful day!

Love and prayers,
Wanda
